This £38M Project at Norton Street in Liverpool for Niveda, is Create Construction’s largest and most ambitious scheme to date, comprising of 220,000 square footage with 735 student beds, social hub areas and a large retail area across 2 blocks. The Project commenced in Mid-September 2017, with the demolition of commercial buildings and a former car park, close to the famous city centre and was completed in 2019 some 110 weeks later.

The Architects, Falconer Chester Hall’s vision for the project was to design a statement high rise scheme which would consist of two 15/8 and 11 storey blocks, with an eye-catching

façade and interesting architectural details. The aim was to create a new landmark building on the Liverpool skyline. This was certainly achieved, as the building is now prominent in the area, providing a visual reference point for the quality of future investment and development 

in the district.

This prestigious student accommodation includes a 

variety of hi-spec room options, such as fully equipped studio rooms and an impressive sky lounge for students, which showcases the breath-taking panorama of the 

Liverpool skyline. Within the scheme, the architects also included social hubs, a gym, laundry and a sizeable retail unit on the Norton Street side of the development. 

The name ‘Calico’ was chosen for the building taking inspiration derived from the local area, which has been the historic home of Liverpudlian fabric businesses for many years. Interior Designers Naomi Cleaver took this local theme through into the interiors, giving it a contemporary twist. The interior style has a modern, quirky and luxurious feel, designed to attract their discerning student market, which desires a comfortable and high standard of living.
