This year’s Safety Groups UK Health and Safety Awards 2018, held at the House of Lords, saw Claire Oakes, SHEQ Director at Create Construction, formally recognised and rewarded by being named as the winner of the Maurice Award, presented by Lord Brougham & Vaux.
The Safety Groups UK annual Health and Safety awards ceremony celebrates the achievements and efforts of the group members over the past year. The Maurice Adamson award, in particular, recognises the ‘Outstanding contribution from an individual to the Safety Groups Movement’. Any elected member of a Safety Group’s Committee is invited to nominate an individual for the Maurice Adamson award.
Claire’s nomination, from several respected members of the group, saw her named as the first female to win this prestigious award.
“It has been no surprise that Claire’s career has progressed from Health and Safety Advisor, to, now SHEQ Director at Create Construction, due to her knowledge and dedication to improving safety performance.” – said Madeleine Abas, Senior Partner of Osborn Hut Solicitors.
