Create Construction and Create Homes, both part of Create Group, achieved two new Gold RoSPA Awards in recognition of their outstanding health & safety performance when the awards were announced on March 26th 2020.
The RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) awards scheme, which is one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, offers organisations a prime opportunity to benchmark safety performance year-on-year and ensure consistent performance between construction sites. The annual RoSPA Awards are the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK. So with almost 2000 entries every year, organisations receiving an award are recognised as being world-leaders in health & safety practice.
This year, Create Construction achieved its fifth Gold Award in a row, resulting in a prestigious Gold Medal Award. Create Homes received its first Gold Award, having achieved a Silver Award the first time they entered the competition last year.
Due to the update in Government advice regarding Covid-19, the H&S Team, led by Claire Oakes, SHEQ director at Create, were unable to attend the 2020 RoSPA Awards but will be attending the event once it has been re-scheduled.
The wins represent the extremely valuable work of the H&S team at Create that they carry out each and every day to make sure that Create's construction sites are safe places to work. Claire Oakes, SHEQ director was presented with the ‘Maurice Adamson Award’ by Safety Groups UK in 2018, demonstrating her outstanding contribution to the Construction Industry.
At the heart of Create Group’s overall strategy is their ‘create a safer future’ initiative, which ensures it protects their people and environments at all times. Claire and her team are committed and continually striving to improve the safety culture throughout the business.
